Iced Tea

As I began to think about what to write in this first of many blogs, my brain tossed around all kinds of ideas and topics to write on and yet I came up with - something that may not mean much to you personally, but to me, it is not merely enjoyable or tasty, it is- who I am - in the most shallow and basic sort of ways...
You see, I can write all about my important relationship with God, my close and loving family, my dear friends or my career- all of which are most important in my life and in that order of importance. But I decided to write about something that most people would identify me by, again, in the most shallow sense. Are you ready? Please keep reading...this is where you will either begin to laugh or think I'm crazy- or perhaps you can relate? That would be scary!
For those individuals in my life who see me on a daily basis, will tell you that I am never without an Iced Tea in my hand. Paradise Bakery and Starbucks are my friends and I should own stock in both of these companies. I don't know what it is about iced tea, but I do know that it has to be fresh brewed and with no sugar. It's important to note that I brush my teeth a lot, because if I didn't, I know my teeth would be stained a color that I don't care to discuss or think about. I know, you are now thinking that I have an addiction problem, well, my response would be to you- I've tried to go without and I am a much nicer person when I don't go without...and besides, they have yet to develop a patch or gum to cure this tea problem of mine. In all seriousness, it's just one way for me to get a boost for the day and relax all at once.
I work with a tea on my desk, I drive with a tea in my car and I relax with a tea next to my easy chair.
People tell me I should drink more water- two thoughts on this; first of all, tea is made with water and a lot of it- you can even say it's "stained water" that tastes really good of course. Secondly, those people telling me to drink more water (without the tea bag) don't realize that I don't have enough time in a day to keep running to the restroom. Are you kidding me? Seriously though, Water is very important and water really is the only other thing I drink besides tea. After all, they say that your body is made up of 75% water, well, mine is probably made up of 75% tea.
Soda - too much sugar, Alcohol - too much danger, Juice - too much acid, Milk - too much fat,
Tea - JUST RIGHT!
Anyone up for a tea party? I think I am now going to go order my Iced Venti Black Tea, unsweetened, no added water Iced Tea.
Catch you on my next blog, if I don't see or hear from you before then... Cheers!
